Mac is perfect for developers, Apache, PHP all pre-installed before you received it. I found a software called wikidPad looks very good as alternative to (media)wiki,

It seems far more easier to use than mediawiki, at least the installations sounds simple for a PC users.

Unfortunately, the mac version looks a little bit dull and would be much better to have a dmg available.
